“Can I trust the Bible?” is a very common question in the minds of young and old these days. Many people also don’t understand is how the Bible came to be. Looking online and you will find all kinds of theories on youtube, ticktock, facebook and other platforms about how the Bible came to be and whether it is reliable or not. Some of these reasons sound plausible, but others sound out right crazy! However, in an effort to understand more about what the Bible is, how it came to be and whether we can trust it, we turned to a series created by Wes Huff and Andy Steiger for some answers. Both of these men are part of Apologetics Canada and Wes Huff, the man with the information in this series, is currently pursuing a PhD in theological studies and sacred and canonical texts at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto.
The subtitle of this episode of Can I Trust the Bible is “The right books” and seeks to explain whether we have the correct books in the current Bible which we hold in our hands today. Many have heard of various other books in circulation like the “Gospel of Thomas” or the “Gospel of Mary Magdalene” or the “Gospel of Peter” and yet they are not found in most current bibles. Why is that? Well, you will have to listen to Wes yourself.
We enjoyed this episode and trust you will too. It fostered a good lot of discussion and also gave insight into certain questions which we’d not though of before.
