One of the most challenging times in my life and in the lives of many youth in this world is the moment that they leave their parent’s home and step out into this world. Often this coincides with starting college or university, a place where they are introduced to many new ideas, faiths, ways of life, ways of thinking and ways of being. For all it is a time where they have to wrestle with who they are, what they believe and what they want to become and do in this world.
Some wander through college and university without finding out much about themselves and exit still lost, while others take the time to figure things out and become settled in who they are and what they believe.
This video “A matter of Faith” tells the story of a family as their daughter enters college. It has some good insight into a few of the challenges faced by youth as well as what the difference is between those who call themselves Christians and those who don’t. It also some very good insight into the debate which is raging in this world between Evolution and Creation. In fact, the climax of this move is a very interesting debate regarding the same topic and some good points are raised.
The youth I watched it with really enjoyed it an learned a lot from it and I’d suggest each person who reads this post takes a look at it too…
